I got word from my family yesterday that dad wasn't doing well and that I should go to see him as soon as possible. When I arrived, he was so weak that he wasn't able to speak or open his eyes. As I was by his bed side talking to him, he tried to open his eyes a couple of times and you could see his mouth moving, but he could do nothing in his weakened state. About the only thing we can do at this point is pray that our Heavenly Father will take him quickly once everyone has had a chance to say their goodbyes. Last Updated: 2008-10-09 07:14:36 This past weekend (10/4/2008) our family received some bad news. Dave's father (George Buckway) was taken to the emergency room because of interal bleeding. After performing blood tests, the doctors said that he has Leukemia (most likely Acute Leukemia). The doctors have taken a bone marrow sample and should have the results today (10/7/2008). He was so excited, he wanted to take the latest tooth he lost to school for show and tell before putting it under his pillow for the Tooth Fairy. In August 2006 Dave quit his job with Northrop Grumman in Newport News, VA and took new employment with Computer Sciences Corporation in Tucson, AZ. Dave works at Raytheon on a maintenance contract supporting SAP development at Raytheon Missle Systems. He went from a company that builds aircraft carriers to one that builds missiles.
